Jail Re-Alignment is not done. Today’s “Point of View” on FoxLA News was very insightful.
From Fox LA News
For Governor Brown, the prison overcrowding issue will simply not go away. Brown thought he had met the federal court’s mandate to reduce the California prison population when he forced what came to be known as “realignment” on California counties. Flooding local jails – with state inmates.
At the time, we warned Brown in an earlier segment that passing the buck to the counties would increase crime. Local counties simply are not equipped to deal with an influx of criminals from state prisons. And a lot of them – had to be let out early. “Read more.”
Please watch link below. It show stats of increased crime in LA since beginning of Re-Alignment
More Crime In California
There will be more crime in California. As AB109 pushes on, so does the impact that it brings
There will be more crime in California, due to the impact of AB109. California county jails are in big trouble. There are inmates serving 15 years and more in our county jails. These jails were built to house pre-trial inmates and inmates with sentences of no more then 1 year. With California Jail Realignment ( AB109) prison inmates can serve an unlimited sentence at a county jail facility. This contributes to jail overcrowding at the county level causing criminals to be released back onto our streets. This happens daily. Crime rates continue to increase in our communities because of this. What should we do? What can we do? What do you think? Take a moment to post a comment below in response or discuss on our Facebook page.
Recent Bills To Fix AB109 have failed.
That’s right. Recent bills to fix AB109 have failed, and the monster that has become Jail Realignment continues to push forward.
Now we have to wait another year to hope that there will be some fix to Jail Realignment. This bill has created havoc on the county jail throughout the state. People get on board. Crime is on the rise, Public Safety is at Risk in California. Lets all do our part and get involved. The Jail Realignment affects all of us in the industry as well as our communities. Criminals are NOT being sent to prison for crimes. Instead they are clogging up our county jails. In response the jails are releasing more people on OR than ever before. And we all know that the OR system is heavily flawed.
Bondsmen and community get involved.
Bail Bondsmen have a dangerous job. They take risk everyday to make sure that the criminal justice process is completed. In many counties today defendants are release with a citation and no followup. We they don’t appear a warrant is issued. Most time the warrant is never acted on until the defendant is stopped because he has committed another crime. Bonds Bonds hold the defendant accountable until the end of the process. Clearly cite release and OR are unacceptable. Which form of release do you think is better?
